I’m a senior in high school and I am very interested in being a life coach; however, I’m confused on some things. My question is, is it mandatory to start your own life coaching business as a life coach? If not, where would you work? (a firm? office? etc?) Also, I know that many life coaches do sessions with their clients on the phone, but i personally would rather do it face to face. Do you have to talk with your clients on the phone? Anyone who is experienced in life coaching or social work that knows the answer..please let me know. Even if you’re not experienced but you found the answer to these questions, it would be a great help! Thanks

As a lover of business and entrepreneurship I am all for starting your own thing ! It takes extreme work, dedication and talent but if you feel your ideas and business plan is that superior, than more power to you! Being self-employed and the leader of your own business would open up many doors to freedom of expression and coaching style. However, it is a tough thing to do, financially, legally and individually it is a very testing process. It may be a safer bet to start looking for work throughout your post secondary schooling, and continue to develop your own ideas and plan as you gain the knowledge and experience to create your own successful company one day ! I’d like to hear how this pans out, and even support you in such a drive ! All the best .
